Estée Lauder Double wear foundation

Hi there!

My mission when it comes to make up has always been hunting down a holy grail foundation. I have oily skin, so have found it difficult to find one that would stay put and shine free all day long.
I've tried many drugstore brands, 2 of which worked really well but weren't budge proof.

I decided to try out a sample of the Esteé Lauder double wear and loved it so much that I had to make the splurge and purchase the full size.

Estee Lauder's claims:

'15-hour staying power. Flawless all day. This worry-free, long-wearing makeup stays fresh and looks natural through heat, humidity, nonstop activity.Won't change colour, smudge or come off on clothes. Feels lightweight and comfortable.'

I have to say, I agree with each and every one of those claims 100%

Double wear gives a full coverage which I like, as I now find I don't need to add any extra concealer to any blemishes that may rear their head.
I apply my make up at 5:30 every morning and don't tend to take it off until around 7:30 pm that same evening. My foundation still looks pretty much exactly as it did when I applied it that morning, without me having to touch up with powder. If I'm popping out for a drink or food after work, I do tend to add a little powder just to my T-Zone to give me a fresher look but other than that it gets a 5/5 for staying power. We've had some pretty hot and sunny days here in the UK recently, and this didn't budge.

Something I've never been able to battle no matter which foundation I've used, is oxidisation (I feel like a scientist using that word!) I've always had the right shade for my skin, but haven't been able to stop the foundation changing to a darker shade around my chin area. Double wear doesn't oxidise at all on my skin, another 5/5 for you Estée Lauder.

If you have oily or combination skin, or you're just looking for a foundation to stay in place all day throughout the summer, I'd absolutely recommend going to an Estée Lauder counter and asking to be colour matched and getting a sample to try out. I promise, you won't be disappointed.
My only niggle, pretty much everyone's niggle, is that it doesn't come with a pump so you can't completely control the amount of product you dispense. However, thanks to a bunch of fellow beauty lovers, I found out that the MAC foundation pump is a perfect fit.

Price: £29.50

What's your favourite foundation?

Daisy xoxo
