Current beauty favourites #3

Hi there.

I come baring another beauty favourites post for you all. I've been trying out a few new products lately, and new instantly that they'd make it to this post.

So, here are the things I've been loving lately:

Make up:

* Collection Blush and Glow palette - I've been using this little palette constantly since I bought it, in particular the highlight shade. It gives a beautiful glow to the skin without making me look like a glitter ball

* The Balm CabanaBoy blush - Another new product and another I've used every day since buying it. This is a gorgeous berry blush which is perfect for the Autumn and winter. It lasts from the time I apply it to the time I remove my make up some hours later, can't wait to buy more shares from The Balm

* Urban Decay Naked skin concealer - I'm almost out of this concealer, and I will for sure be repurchasing it. It's such a great shade for concealing and highlighting and the coverage is amazing

* Essence Make me brow eyebrow gel - I'm obsessed with any and all eyebrow products, and my new addiction is this mascara from Essence. I use my pencil then powder as usual, then apply this to keep my brows in place. It's tinted so it adds a little colour as well as tames my brows

I'm sure there'll be another favourites post not too far in the future. What have been your favourite products to use recently?

Life, blogging and work. A little update post

Hi there.

I wanted to do a little life post today instead of a beauty post, as there are a few things I wanted to get off my chest, update you on, and hopefully get some advice on. It's a rainy day and I have it the day off work, so thought why not just let my fingers type my thoughts......

Blogging:

Blogging for me is a hobby. It's something I never really though about, I just decided one day to share my beauty thoughts with the world. My only problem with blogging, is time. Lack thereof. I work full time, 9 hour days 5 days a week, and never have the time or energy to put my all into posts sometimes. And of course with the dark nights coming in thick and fast, I have limited opportunity to take nice pictures.
I'm going to try and figure out a schedule so that I can squeeze a little blogging back into my life, because it is something that I enjoy and helps me keep my mind off the real world. I think I'd also like to add other posts every now and then, life updates, TAG's and maybe foodie posts. What do you think?

Work:

This is always a tough subject. I'm 29 and still don't know which path I'm supposed to take. I've never known what I wanted to do as a career, so I couldn't go to university as I wouldn't have a clue what subject to do. Make up has always been a passion of mine and being a freelance make up artist would be amazing. However, it's such a fast paced and competitive industry and I sometimes wonder if I'd lose the passion if I was doing it as a job. Does that make any sense?
I've had four (including my current one) long term jobs and haven't enjoyed any. They're just a way to earn a living, but that's not how I think life should be. You spend the majority of life at work, so it should be something that you enjoy, right?

Life:

Where does one even begin? Life can be very challenging sometimes. Things don't always go to plan, people lie, people change, and it can sometimes feel like you're on a roller-coaster. I have no idea which direction I'm going in life either if I'm honest, all I know is I want to enjoy every single minute of it. I have some life decisions to make, I know travelling is top of that list......

That's my little ramble over with, hope I didn't bore you all too much! I promise, my next post will be a beauty related one.

Have a great day whatever you're doing

La Roche Posay Serozinc

Hi there!

I've been pushing this review to the side for quite some time, as I never really felt that it did a great deal for me. However, I've completely changed my mind and couldn't prolong this post any longer.

What is it I hear you say...... none other than the much loved La Roche Posay Serozinc:

I bought this because of the hype and was pretty disappointed at first as I never noticed it doing anything for my skin.
However I had a break out a few weeks back and found that no matter what I used, nothing would clear it up. I had stopped using Serozinc - as I just felt it wasn't doing anything - but decided to give it one last try, and I'm so happy that I did.

I did my usual skin care routine one night, and spritzed my face with this before my moisturiser. Much to my surprise the next morning, the spots I had a battle with had reduced massively in size and redness, and seemed to dry up (eww I know) literally overnight. I applied it again that morning and evening and by the second day, my skin was looking 100% better.

I've started to use this morning and night religiously again and genuinely couldn't be without it. It's a life and skin saviour!

If you have trouble with breakouts, I'd say give this a go. It's such a great product and I'd recommend it to everyone..

Have you tried anything from La Roche Posay?

The Balm Cabanaboy blush

Hi there.

A got a little bit of a surprise when I walked into Superdrug not too long ago, and spotted The Balm right in front of me!

Mary-Loumanizer from The Balm is my favourite and most used highlighter, and I've been itching to try out more products from the brand. So who was I to resist when I saw a fully stocked stand?

Cheek products are my favourite things to buy, so I decided to try out Cabanaboy blush.

I always tend to reach for plum and mauve shades, and this shade is just that. This is a beautiful neutral plum blush with a little teeny bit of a sheen and I think I'm in love. Cabanaboy is highly pigmented and so soft to apply. I've used this every day since I bought it and it's made me want to try even more shades.

Some cheek products I use tend to fade throughout the day, most of the time because I touch my face constantly and manage to rub them off, but this literally lasted all day long and still looked like I'd applied it that very morning.

The packaging is such a selling point for me too, with vintage style pictures and sturdy cardboard makes it so unique. This blush has a pretty decent size mirror in it too which makes it such a perfect blush to pop into your make up bag for travelling or just day to day use.

This will absolutely be making it to my next favourites post, believe me!

Have you tried anything from The Balm? What's your favourite?

A mini Kiko haul

Hi there.

Today I wanted to share a teeny tiny haul with you all. I've heard so many great things about the brand Kiko and decided I could restrain myself no longer and had to make a little purchase myself. Most of the things I had on my shopping list had sold out, but I managed to get four things.

* An eyeshadow in the shade 137 £2.90 - This is a beautiful shimmery cranberry shade

* A smart lipstick in the shade 915 £3.90 - A glossy plum shade, perfect for Autumn/Winter

* Two lip liners in the shades 712 and 715 £2.50 each - 712 is a warm mauve/brown shade and 715 is a cool toned purple

Just from swatching this beauties I'm already impressed, and definitely can't wait to buy more!

Do you have any recommendations?

Primark lip liners

Hi there!

I've been very naughty and not posted (again) in a while. Juggling a full time 6-day-a-week job and blogging isn't such an easy task. Throw in there every day tasks and driving lessons, it's some what impossible. However, I've managed to drop a day at work (wooohoooo) and hopefully my driving lessons are coming to an end.

So, without further ado: I bring to you a new post......

For quite some time now I've worn a lip liner underneath my lipstick as I find I get a longer wear from my lipstick. I have a ridiculous amount of liners, but shopping in Primark a little while ago I spotted they had their own range for £1.00 and couldn't pass them up.

The first one that caught my eye was the mauve/brown shade (one thing I wish was that they had shade names/numbers) Upon swatching this in store I thought it looked pretty similar to MAC's 'Brave' lipstick, so decided to pick this up so that I could wear it alongside my lippy.

The next shade I couldn't leave the store without, is this more warm toned nude. I just figured a gal can never have too many nudes, and this would work great on it's own or maybe with a nude/clear gloss on top.

I've worn both shades so much since picking them up and love them so much that I decided to pick up a few more for my freelance kit (I recently decided to chase my MUA Dream)
These liners are so creamy which makes them so easy to apply - they just glide on, they're super pigmented - they're just like a lipstick, and they last pretty much all day. I've worn them alone and underneath a lipstick, and get around 6 hours if not more wear out of them.

As I mentioned earlier, these are £1.00 each, so if you're on the hunt for a creamy, pigmented, long lasting and inexpensive lip liner, then I'd wholeheartedly recommend trying these out.

Have you tried anything from Primark's make up range?

Sally Hansen insta-dri top coat

Hi there!

I'm sure I'm not alone when I say I hate waiting for nail polish to dry. Are you with me ladies?

I've heard so many great things about a lot of the Sally Hansen nail polishes, be that nail treatments or colours, so when I spotted their Insta-Dri I figured it would be worth trying out:

This says to apply your chosen nail polish and then apply a coat of the Insta-Dri on top. Following said instructions, I applied two coats of my regular nail polish and then a coat of this straight away, and to my surprise, my nails were dry within seconds.

I've tried an eyelash dry oil before which worked wonders, but could get a little messy, however this is a nail polish so there's no mess. Perfect. This is something I use every time I paint my nails, I just apply my nail polish, then add a coat of this and I'm ready to go.

I do also think that this helps keep my nail polish on for a little longer than other top coats I've used. What more could you ask for? A quick drying, long wearing, glossy top coat.

Have you tried any products from Sally Hansen?
